Ok, take a look at how Saturday went and then we’ll talk about the “fight in the grocery store”!!!
Here’s how the weekend started:
coffee with cream no sugar
Spelt toast with peanut butter and local honey
vanilla yogurt (no chemical laden fake sugars)
Lunch was butternut squash (very pumpkin’ish if you’ve never had it) roasted with olive oil, sea salt and local honey… this was so good! Along with a simple salad.
Supper was at my kid’s request: Breakfast. (we have this at night a lot, because our mornings are so busy and “out the door”) We had: eggs, Naturally cured bacon and even a splurge of organic pancakes.
I did pretty good with water and even added a little “kefir”, that’s a pro-biotic smoothie type drink I hate the plain, but love the Strawberry and blueberry. BTW, so do my kids and it’s good for them!
EXERCISE: Well, here’s where it’s so tough when your busy. My husband is doing that “P90” that you order off TV and I have gone through that one too (though I have to modify some of it) I started that back today. This video is NOT for everyone, but there are other ones out there and it can work for some people. (Others really need a trainer, I tend to use my husband as one, lol)
… Oh don’t lie, you skipped right down to the “Kelly’s fight in the store”… that’s ok, you can always scroll back up, this is MUCH, more interesting.
I am proud of a lot, but one of the best things is the relationship I have with my husband… we really don’t fight a lot, CERTAINLY not in public! (until now)
We went out Saturday night, to stock up on groceries for the week. I know, it’s an exciting life, eh? Well with out giving the store name away… we went to one that had NO healthy options. Isle after isle of junk and gut-filler! The kids wanted this and that, and I was saying NO… and Jason brought over junk and set it in the buggy… THAT WAS IT. I felt so helpless and frustrated and though we weren’t too loud. We did squabble about stuff: “I thought you were with me on this”… “I didn’t mean cut everything out”… “I can’t do this”… “Ill be in the car”… Eeek, Not a good trip.
As awful as that sounds, we quickly realized that this was stupid fighting in a store over food! “Let’s get out of here” said my husband, and we did. Simply by going to another store (not even a specialty store), but one that had OPTIONS… the trip was fun! That’s my advice today, go to the right places, a place that has options. You’ll see that most grocery stores are going to this. Look at the OPTIONS and try something new, something better for you. Not all of them you’ll like, but many you will!
…and no we didn’t through any can goods!
