IF YOU’RE REALLY SERIOUS…

You know I have lived most of my adult life, as open as a book… the good bad and ugly (and there’s been plenty of all of it!) Back when I used to do morning radio, we had 4 or more hours to fill and it wasn’t ‘just’ songs. You would find yourself talking about YOUR life, and so when I’m out and about shopping and someone says, “Wow, I can’t believe your little one is that old, seems like yesterday he was born…” I say thank you, laugh and am grateful for my “extended family”.
I’ve also NEVER been one of those who can’t sit in a restaurant alone, or that minds other people knowing the struggles, imperfections or opinions that I have.
So as I was pondering, (make that, while I was ‘googling’) last night about what weight and body fat percentage I SHOULD be for my height…(Come on, it’s January, don’t you get reflective on what you’ve consumed in the past year?) I thought about what Phil and Amy, our proud, local, “loosers” had said on our show just last week… ACOUNTABITY.
It used to be that being accountable to my husband worked; but lets be honest, we’re past all the ‘closing of the bathroom door issues’ by now. You know what I mean, we’re TOO comfortable, so the question was: “WHO WOULD I HATE TO SHOW MY WEIGHT TO?”
YOU… and you; and yes, I like you… but even YOU!!!!! (Though it would make me “accountable”, eh?)
I don’t have a horrible time with weight, I’ve always tried to kept the 5 pound rule going: “If I notice an extra 5 I’d get it then and not wait on 10”. Well, I’m pretty sure that ol’ number 10 has been trying to sneak in the door… maybe even his pal 12? This is not a health emergency, but I feel “yuck” and that’s no way to wake up feeling. Plus, it’s not the weight as much as I think I’d have trouble running a mile right now! So here’s my plan, but I want you to join me:
Tuesday morning on the show, I will step on the scale on the show and reveal my weight & body fat index!!! Then each day in January, I will post what I eat and what ‘exercise’ I did on my blog. This will only work if you post with me?
Yes, You. Come on, let’s see what we can do! (btw, I’m no doctor, so check with yours on how you should proceed and I’ll see you here on the “blog” each night!)

Hey Kimberly, Well I am staring yet another diet, I have been dieting all my adult life, so you would think I would know what I was doing, lol. I am having a hard time finding a plan that works for me. My goal is 20 lbs, that is my goal to loose that amount by Feb, I don’t know if I will make it or not, but I am going to try.
For breakfast I had two slices of bread, and two cups of coffee. Lunch is still up in the air…so to speak lol.

I am joinging this accountability “program” you have started. I weighed in today at 120 lbs but should be approx. 110 lbs according to Kimberly’s chart above. I had:
1 C Coffee
1 Lean Cuisine Chicken Carbonara
1 Naval Orange
5 Baked Lays Chips
And for dinner I will have (and I hope it satisfies me b/c I’m STARVING!)
1 C Green Beans
1 Grilled Chicken Breast
1 Small Salad w/ Light dressing
WONDERFUL!!!
I am NOT an expert on WHAT to do… but I figure if we all have our own way, at least we can check in with each other and keep each other motivated!

Are you exercising too??? I’m trying, but it’s 6 in the evening and I’m still at work, and I have an hours drive home.
It’s tough, but I’m going to do something tonight… if it’s 5 crunches!



I’ll start my “what I ate today” log tomorrow evening…
I’m aiming for more whole, raw foods myself. What are you guys doing?
