Meet Charlie…

My parents were recently asked about helping with a dog that truly needed just that… help.
Without getting into all of the private details of other individuals, by the time my parents got “Charlie” he had been through a lot…
my dad and I got him to a vet and he has a few issues to overcome, but he’s young and the vet said he should bounce back. Oh, let me introduce you…
Charlie is a puppy.
I know, he doesn’t look like a puppy does he? At under a year, he is already larger than my Golden Retriever, Ally. He is a Great Pyrenees and although he is only about 75 pounds now, soon he will be between 100 and 125! When I went over to my dad’s house and saw him, he looked up with that sad polar bear looking face and I melted like butter. I offered to keep him (at least till he is better). Now, before the flood gates open, even if Charlie doesn’t stay in the family… I know we have people (aware of the responsibilities) who would love to open their home.
A year ago, I helped take care of a boxer mix named “Bobo”… he has a marvelous home and parents now and the best part… I still get to see him occasionally.
Charlie is a house full, but such a gentle giant. I also should say, that my grandfather, who is no longer with us, was a big guy with a head full of snow, white hair and his name was… Charlie. I know, that as we all looked at this poor soul with his wavy, white locks… well, we just had to help Charlie!
I had mentioned him on the show and so I thought I might share a few pictures with you. We have friends with this breed and have read quite a bit, but I think it is always helpful to hear other people’s experiences and advice. Do you have a Great Pyrenees? Have you ever help take in a beautiful creature, of any type?
And yes… I’ll keep you up on Charlie story and pictures too!
See you Monday on the show,
Kimberly (and Charlie)
