Hello… hope you’re out of the rain today. We were talking weddings and fitness today, hope you enjoyed it. You know the BMW Charity Pro Am golf tournament is not so far off and each year people volunteer their time to make this event as big as it is (and the chance to maybe be thanked by Kevin Costner, eh?) Well, straight off the press, here is the information on becoming a volunteer for this wonderful Charity event.
Volunteer Positions Available for the
BMW Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament
GREENVILLE, S.C. (February 26, 2008) – Looking for an opportunity to see Hollywood superstars and legendary sports greats? Well, here’s your chance!
Volunteer positions are still available for the 2008 BMW Charity Pro-Am golf tournament where Kevin Costner, Catherine Bell, George Lopez and Wayne Gretzky, to name a few, have competed in the past. This year’s tournament will be played May 15-18, 2008, at Bright’s Creek Golf Club in Mill Spring, NC, The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg and Thornblade Club in Greer. Opportunities to volunteer include marshal, transportation and scoring positions at all three courses.
To register or learn more about volunteering at the 2008 event, visit http://www.bmwcharitygolf.com and click on the “Volunteers” tab. Applications must be completed and returned by 5 p.m. on April 25, 2008, with a $40 uniform package fee (a $175 value). The uniform package includes a golf shirt and cap or visor, two passes to the tournament (one for the volunteer and one guest pass), food and beverages for volunteers during shifts, an official volunteer pin and an invitation to attend the Volunteer Appreciation Party. Volunteer orientation will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the BMW Zentrum. A post card will be mailed to all volunteers with assigned pick-up times.
Celebrities are in the process of being selected for this year’s tournament, but some of the personalities that have participated in the past include: Costner, Bell, Lopez, Gretzky, Kurt Russell, Dan Marino, Johnny Bench, John Elway, Kevin Sorbo, Brad Daugherty, Cheech Marin, John O’Hurley, Steve Spurrier, Lou Holtz and Alice Cooper.
