“Uh-oh, swim suits have hit the stores!”

The sun is out, the winter coat is packed away and what is that, that I have just found…Oh my, its all those Christmas cookies… right there on my hips!

So I have decided to get “back in shape”. I haven’t necessarily gained that much, but “shape” is a relative term, right? As one lady told me the other day, “round” is a shape!
I also feel as though I have found a kindred spirit with Jamie Lee Curtis, after she did that whole, “skinny girls have fat too” photo shoot… isn’t that the truth. I LOVE her for that!
Healthy… that’s what I’m going for. You just feel better when you MOVE and here lately I’ve had to make myself, move.

My husband and I bought one of those “Late night, infomercial, work-outs in a box”.
I know, some of those are practically scams. Face it, you don’t just call the 800 number and wait for your new abs to show up in the mail. You actually have to DO the work out!?! (The gaul of these people, eh?)

I once bought a used work out tape at Goodwill (Oh come on, you shop there too here and there, right?)… took it home and realized that I didn’t have the rhythm it took to keep up with the “Modern day, Jane Fonda” on my television screen. That one collected dust like I collected calories.

I know, you have to find what works for you. Some people are “gym” people, some people are runners, some need a trainer, and me? Well, for years I’ve done stuff at home.
Probably some of the same exercises that your gym teacher in junior and senior high school taught you; and I did these while watching tv (Channel 7, of course).
It’s worked alright for me. Now, I need more (slowing metabolism that comes with age I’m sure).

So I am now, one week into a… 90 day, at home, boot camp… and I like it!
I hurt, I mean everything is sore; but my husband and I have committed ourselves to “sticking with it”. I do think that having someone else participate with you helps…telling people helps. (It’s that simple feeling of accountability) Plus, we all love for someone to share our pain, eh? So if you’re getting ready to get in shape, let me know how you’re doing it and how it’s going. (and for goodness sake… ask me how it’s going, I need the accountability too)

See you on the show,

Kimberly

Hello Kimberly,
I have a 5 month old daughter, and Im in So much need of getting back to my pre-baby body as everyone calls it. Im getting married October 26th and I have to lose weight. I always start something and never finsh it. I can say to myself were going to start a daily workout routine, but i never follow through with it, and with all these crazy diets out there now a day, who knows which ones truly work, So ive told myself, im going to get back in shape and I mean it this time :) I hope your work out goes great. At least your husband works outs with you my fiance is one of those people that can eat as much as they want and whatever they want and want gain a pound, so there is no need for him to work out. Lucky him! Good Luck!!!

Stacy,

How’s it going? Are you working out too?

Tell your hubby to be, that whether he needs it or not, his involvement helps you (but it also helps him… hint, hint)
Haha… let me know how it goes. I’ve had a few slack days just from busy schedules; but I’m still on track. In fact, I’m going down to the basement in a minute to get started.
I now crave that energy it gives me the next day and that’s a good motivator!
