What to do with all these plastic bags?

This is a picture of a dump… but it might resemble your pantry as well.. ALL those plastic grocery bags!!!

We talked about them this morning and their newer, better, cousin the “Re-usable Canvas Bags” that you can buy now. I have made a promise to buy them myself, I conveniently picked some up at ‘MoM’ (Michelin on Main) today. It’s my part in stopping this cycle of plastics that will be around in the dirt when my great, great grandchildren are out digging in the yard on day.
So if you see me at the grocery store, and I don’t have my new “re-usable bags”... get after me would you!

If you go on line, you’ll find all kinds of uses for these “left over bags” from dog owners using them as “pooper scoopers” to rain hats to dresses (Hmmm, you thought polyester was hot! Try a grocery bag. I did notice that people are braiding them and making tote bags… any body out there tried this? I’d love to hear your stories. I did include the dress picture I showed this morning onthe show… yes, they say it’s all plastic grocery bags… unbelievable!

See you on the show!

I did it!
I used my “re-usables” yesterday… bag boy looked at me funny for a brief second, but then commented on “Oh, these ARE nice”... Keepin’ um in my car now.

I have recently started “stuffing” my throw pillows, stools, and shams with grocery plastic bags. When you stand up the air refills them and when you sit down it “squishes” nice and soft. My dining chairs have seat covers and i stuffed plastic bags into them too, just an extra added boost. I was over-run with bags at one time because I couldn’t stand to throw them away, as I go to the store about every day.Now I am down to one cookie jar full.

Ok Susan, I’m going to try it with my screen out door furniture (there are some throw pillows for that)...
what a clever idea! Thanks.
