Today, Countybank is taking a break from strictly financial content for Financial Fridays by donating our time on the show to the Greenwood Relay for Life team that is raising money for the American Cancer Society. It’s hard to find anyone whose life has not been affected by the scourge of cancer, and our local team has a really unique and fun way to raise money this year.

This morning, Patti Gagstetter will appear on the program to tell us all about Relay for Life’s upcoming “Cakes for a Cure” event coming up April 24 in Greenwood. The cake baking community nationwide has responded to the call for help, so this will be your chance to see a combination of local talent and folks that can also be seen on the Food Network’s TV Cake Challenge or TLC’s Ultimate Cake-off, including Ashley Vicos, Norm Davis and Zane Beg, Christine Schnee, Kathy Scott and Dana “Sugar Daddy” Herbert. Not only that, you can join the cake competition no matter what your level of baking skills and rub elbows with the national talent.

For more information on the events and how you can come to participate, learn or just watch, taste and enjoy, email Patti at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or Valerie Hofstetter at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

So come, enjoy, and may the best cake win!
