Friday, January 15, Melissa Hull, our Certified Finacnial Planner will appear on Your Carolina in Countybank’s Fiancial Fridays segment. She’ll be talking about common financial reolutions people make and steps you can take to achieve them. Here’s the list we’re starting with:

Pay down/pay off credit cards
Live within means
Save for children’s education
Save/increase savings for retirement
Review/Revise legal documents
Build an emergency fund
Insurance Review

We see these a lot. Ddi you make any resolutions regarding money for 2010? If you did, let us know what they are. We’ll address them on furture episodes of the program. Don’t worry, we’ll keep your business private! Don’t post any personally identifiable info on this blog, just let us know what your resoution was for this year.

Since we get asked a lot about tools to help get the job done, we’re posting a spreadsheet of a spending plan that we use with clients. Most budget sheets or spending plans don’t get enough detail. This one is set up to prompt you to enter everything, project what you think you’ll do, then record the actual numbers each month so you can see how you’re doing and make adjustments. You’ll need access to Microsoft Excel in order to use the spreadsheet and have it make totals for you and track your cash flow automatically. Just download the spreadsheet and you’re on your way!

See you Friday!
