Ingredients
1 (3.9-oz.) package instant chocolate pudding mix
2 cups cold milk
2 cups heavy cream*
2/3 cup confectioners sugar*
1/2 cup strawberry ice cream topping
1/2 cup pineapple ice cream topping
6 cups pre-baked brownies, cut into 1-inch cubes
3 Tablespoons dry roasted, salted peanuts, crushed
Maraschino cherries for garnish, if desired
Instructions
In medium bowl, whisk together pudding mix and milk as directed on package. Cover and chill while remaining ingredients are being prepared.
In large bowl with mixer at high speed, beat cream and confectioners sugar together until stiff peaks form. Divide and place half of whipped cream mixture into separate bowl. Fold strawberry ice cream topping thoroughly into whipped cream in one bowl. Fold pineapple ice cream topping thoroughly into whipped cream in remaining bowl.
To serve: Layer brownie cubes, pudding, and both flavored whipped creams in large, decorative glass bowl as desired, ending with pineapple whipped cream on top. Sprinkle crushed peanuts evenly over top of prepared trifle and garnish with maraschino cherries, if desired. Makes 8-10 servings.
*2 (8-oz) containers of frozen whipped topping (thawed per package directions) may be substituted for the fresh whipped cream.
