Megan's Notes
Megan Heidlberg Megan Heidlberg, producer and occasional host of Your Carolina, began her television career six years ago at WSPA's sister station in Toccoa, Georgia, WNEG. She served as anchor of the 6, 7 and 11 p.m. newscasts until coming to the Upstate to help launch Your Carolina.
Growing up in a family of broadcasters, Megan was a natural for her chosen profession. Her parents worked in radio and television throughout her childhood. Megan's career actually started at age 3 when she began doing radio commercial voice-overs. While in middle school she hosted a kid's video program, and in high school helped produce and acted in public service announcements addressing topics such as the dangers of drinking and driving.
Megan graduated from University of South Carolina with a degree in Mass Communications. While there, she anchored and reported news and sports on the university's TV and radio stations. She and her husband, Jeff, are proud Gamecock supporters and look forward to football season all year.
She loves athletics having played high school and college basketball. She continues to stay active in sports, playing basketball and softball with Buncombe Street United Methodist Church. She also enjoys kickboxing, traveling, and reading.
Megan and Jeff are enjoying their new son Will. He was born late December and has been an exciting addition to the family. She is happy to be back in her hometown. "I've always wanted to settle down in the Upstate, the perfect place for family and work." And Your Carolina is the perfect fit. In addition to her natural and comfortable on-air presence, Megan has a talent of finding interesting people and helping tell their story. "I love the opportunity to showcase this wonderful area and its fascinating people. And of course, I find it a great privilege to work with the veteran pros, Jack and Kimberly."
