If you’re like me and my husband you are always thinking of fun and affordable improvements you can make to your home. That’s why we are looking forward to SC’s largest home and garden show. Read below for all the fun details. We hope to see you there.
- In a recovering economy, consumers look for resources to improve their best investment - their home. The Home Builders Association of Greenville has teamed up with BI-LO to return the 49th Annual Southern Home and Garden Show to the Upstate, where the largest selection of products and services can be compared for virtually every area of the home, indoors and out, all under one roof.
“Whether you are remodeling your existing home, buying a new home, or in search of products and ideas for your kitchen, garden, or other area of your home, the Southern Home and Garden Show is the place you want to visit the first weekend of March,” said Wayne Moore, of Harold Moore Builder Inc. and Chairman of the Southern Home and Garden Show Committee.
The show kicks off March 5th and continues through the 7th at the Carolina First Center and is recognized as one of the largest shows of its kind in the Southeast; comprised of more than 200 exhibitors and attracting up to 12,000 visitors annually.
A local tradition that provides a unique and broad selection of home improvement-related exhibits, the Southern Home and Garden Show showcases ideas, products, services and more to inspire all aspects of home building, remodeling, landscaping and interior design with many exhibitors offering exclusive discounts.
Andrew Dan-Jumbo, the host of TLC’s “Take Home Handyman” and former star of “While You Were Out,” will share his knowledge and expertise during two appearances on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., accompanied by two meet and greets. The blue collar carpenter and home improvement professional will be giving tips to homeowners on how to make home repairs easily. Dan-Jumbo has guest starred on Oprah, The View, Extra and CNN and in countless periodicals including People Magazine and TV Guide. He has been the featured guest speaker at Home Shows throughout the United States and Canada.
Antique items may be brought into the show where Danny Perkins, of The Danny Co., Inc., will conduct free appraisals. As a certified appraiser, Perkins can estimate what jewelry, fine art, home furnishings and more would be worth at auction. You may find that you have a treasure on your hands, but leave your old Smith and Wesson at home; no weapons are permitted into the show.
Show hours are Friday, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and children under five are admitted free. A $50 BI-LO gift card will be given away each hour of the show and advanced tickets can be purchased at BI-LO for $1 off.
