STONE SOUP STORY TELLING FESTIVAL: APRIL 29-30 IN WOODRUFF

Friday, April 29   Tellers in Schools- 2 hr assignments/each teller.                 
                    2 tellers per school/tandem telling

Noon-1:30pm Senior Luncheon - Lunch and Storytelling with Ellouise Schoettler       Hosted at the First Presbyterian Church, 360 East Georgia Street. Pre-registration required.  Call 864-476-8770 $10.00

3:00-4:00pm     Roundtable Discussion- Woodruff Community Center, 116 South Main Street.  Amateurs and professionals discuss the future of storytelling, marketing and media. Free
5:00-6:00pm Music -in the Woodruff Library Reading Garden, 234 East Hayne Street.  Hawk Hurst Storyteller-Musician.  Free

5:30-6:30pm Stone Soup Supper -Soup, Cornbread, and Dessert- Woodruff Library Reading Garden.  $5.00 Donation

6:30-8:30pm Ghost Stories -Woodruff Library Reading Garden- Featured tellers will attempt to scare your socks off!  Bring a blanket or chair.  Free

Friday and Saturday

Fri noon-5:30 Carolina Foothills Artisan Center-
Sat 10-5 Woodruff City Hall- Exhibition and Sales of Emerging and Established Regional Artists, All Disciplines.  Free Admission

Sat 10am-5pm Concessions- Woodruff Library Reading Garden, 234 East Hayne Street. $$


Saturday, April 30   “SPECIAL” ALL DAY TICKET FOR ALL STORYTELLING EVENTS- $10.00 Individual, $20.00 Family; Puppet Workshop, $3.00 Individual

9:00-10:00am Breakfast at the Timrod-232 East Hayne Street.  Coffee, Fruit, and Baked Goods.  Registration.  $$

9:00 Timrod Library- 232 East Hayne Street. Cyclists gather for bike ride to Walnut Grove Plantation and the Price House.  $10
Runners gather for the inaugural Kate Barry 5k run. $10 entry- T-Shirt
Saturday, April 30
9:30-10:00am Character Parade- Costumed Marchers down Main Street to the Timrod- Library Parade forms at Patton Square.  Free

10:00-10:20am Puppet Show - Storyteller and Puppeteer will perform at the Timrod. Professor Peter Puppet   Free

10:00-6:00pm On-Site Registration and Souvenirs- Woodruff City Hall. 231 East Hayne Street

10:30-noon Puppet Workshop- Make Your Own, Woodruff Library, 234 East Hayne Street.  Professor Peter Puppet $3.00, Individual,includes materials

10:30-noon Storytelling -Woodruff City Hall Auditorium-Hawk Hurst, Storycrafters $3.00,Individual $5.00,Family

Noon-2:00pm “Eat Local”- Local restaurants serve “Stone Soup Specials”- see map for locations.

12:15-1:45pm Story Swap- Amateurs Youth and Adult Compete for Prizes- Tellers attend Woodruff Community Center, 116 South Main.  Free

2:00-3:30pm Storytelling -Woodruff City Hall Auditorium-Chetter Galloway, Ellouise Schoettler, Slash Coleman
  $3.00,Individual $5.00,Family

4:00-5:30pm “Stone Soup Specials”-Dining in local Restaurants- see map for locations. Attendees

4:00-5:00pm Teller Dinner

5:30-8:00pm The Grand Finale Concert-All Featured Tellers, Student Tellers, and Competition Winners, Woodruff City Hall Auditorium.  $5.00,Individual $10.00,Family
