My whole family grew up watching The Andy Griffith Show. Today, it is STILL our favorite thing to watch! In 2004, my son and I attended Mayberry Days, the same year that Andy was there! What an experience! We stayed for 4 days, and one afternoon, we went out to get a bite to eat. The line at the Snappy Lunch was all the way down the sidewalk, so we had to find another restaurant. I do not remember the name of the restaurant, but as we started to enter the 2-story building, Betty Lynn was just coming out! It was just like an episode on TAGS. “Hi, Thelma Lou!” We met, and she let my son take a picture of the two of us. I will treasure that experience for the rest of my life! We hope to go back and experience Mayberry Days again (hopefully this year). I would love to see ‘Thelma Lou’ again! She’s “the cats!”

Y’all are so lucky to live near Mount Airy. I’ve never been able to travel there for Mayberry Days (would love to, some day), but the show (TAGS) still lives in my heart!
